radio swap

I have a base model 05 silverado with stock am/fm radio. I am buying stock am/fm cd, will there be any install problems I need to know about? Thanks

Welcome aboard,

The new radio will have to be programmed at the dealer with a Tech II after it is installed and make sure you get a non-Bose radio.

Not sure if you have done this yet, but I just had mine done (stock AM/FM POS replaced with a AM/FM/CD/Cassette out of an 03).

Cost me $37.50 on the nose to get it re-coded at the dealer.

Kind of odd though, the old one would recieve some stations completely clear, where as the new stereo recieves more stations over all (I live in the high-desert just above Los Angeles) however, the ones that the old radio recieved xtal clear are a little "fuzzy" sometimes....odd.
