I know the later 03+ factory 6 disc unit will not work in my truck. However, does anyone make an in-dash multiple disc changer that works in my 01? I know, changing CDs isnt that hard, but Id like to have multiple disc capability. Thanks in advance for any info.

Im also looking for a single 10" sub box to fit under my CC rear seat. Anyone know of any? I wish MTX made one like I had in my X-cab, but they dont have one currently.

If you have the stock HU, you might be able to do an '01-'02 Denali six-disc in dash changer. I'm not sure how well it would fit, but it might work under the flip-up panel...or you could fab something up. I'm pretty sure these will interface without an issue with your '01 HU...I have no idea if they will be plug-and-play or if you have to make a cable though.

Would this replace my stock single CD headunit, or is it in addition to it? For location, what do you mean flip up panel? Where would I go about finding one of these Denali units? Seems like there were not a lot of Denalis to begin with, now to find one to get parts from? Am I missing something obvious here? Is it right under my nose to source out?

I read through the posts, and just received my TNR kit from JP Customs with 6 disc cd changer, I also got the IPOD kit from them. Has anyone used this adaptor yet. I will have to piggyback it to the CD changer, I also have the rear entertainment and XM radio.

When I spoke to Jason at JP he was not sure if all would work or not, he has not tried it.

Also for information I was able to order a replacement bezel for CD Changer install for my 2004 suburban so that I do not have to cut into the one that is currently installed (just in case I make a mistake. they are not too expensive, GMPARTSDIRECT has them for $48.88 shipped part number 88987435

Yes, you can use a Denali one from the 01-02 models, it is a direct plug in swap for the slave single disc player. the indash 6 disc changer is a little wider than the single unit so you will have to trim some to make it fit in the same place or mount it somewhere else (They make longer cables for them) Those show up often on Ebay. The 01 and 02 models are the ones with the plastic slide in rails on the sides, the 03's and up have a metal mounting ear sticking out on each side and those will not work on your headunit.

Im sort of confused now. Is this a unit that replaces my stock head unit single CD? Or is it something to add to it? If its an adder, do you have to have the buckets with full console because I have the 40/20/40 seat. Thanks again. A pic would be worth 1000 words.

I sounds like my truck interior is similar to yours ('04 2500HD x/cab) with the 40-20-40 seat. I think that the trucks w/bucket seats generally have a consule that houses the factory disc-changer. My truck also lacks the 6-disc changer option, but I found another alternative. I installed a Pioneer 6-disc underneath the driver seat. I actually mounted it to the underside of the seat, not the floor. There are probably other locations in the truck to mount a changer but I like being able to access it while driving.

To interface the Pioneer to the factory head, I used a PAC adapter module, but there are other outfits that make adapters (PIE is another one). Someone probably makes an adapter similar for your '01. Anyway, the adapter allows you to control the 6-disc changer using the factory controls. It was about $100 for the adapter and $150 for the changer. And if I ever upgrade to a Pioneer head unit, the changer will still be usable. I think they also make an adapter for Kenwood changers.

Concerning a box for a CC - you might try seeing what ProBox has to offer. I have a double 12" box under my x/cab rear seat, but I know that ProBox makes boxes for x/cabs and CCs, single or double, 10" or 12". The double 12" was about $150 at the local audio store. One thing about the box I really like is that it is finished (painted, sprayed, whatever) with Rhino-liner - very tough. Just my 2-cents worth.

Gm also has a cartrigde style changer that you can mount anywhere and you do not need a interface adapter, all you need is the factory changer cable and it will plug it where the factory single slave cd player did.
