Performance Chip Vs. GEARS

ok ok guys i need some more help here i am about to install a 6 inch pro comp with 35" BF muds but my truck has stock 3.42 gears would it be better to gear out or get a CHIP?

i went with 4.56's on mine, and your going to have to reflash the vcm for the gear and tire change so you might as well get a good performance tune will your at it

Yea I would say both chip and with a rear gear ratio of at least 4.10.I had that set-up on old truck was allright but if your going to spend the $ Id say 4.56.Use a gearing calculator to see were youd like your rpm's at.Try www.procrastinationracing.com scroll down page and youll see it.

Gears first so you wont burn up your tranny.

You will need gears or the you'll have pretty tires with no power to use them.
