3/4 ton leaf springs

On my '98 ext cab short bed, I should be able to replace my 1/2 ton leaf springs w/ 3/4 ton springs right? Same length? I just don't like the look of the helper springs.

They will work as long as your eye to eye measurement is the same and the center pin to eye on both sides is the same as well. Also because the 3/4 ton springs have more capacity you may end up raising the rear of your truck a bit. You can actually accomplish the same thing by adding a leaf or two to your existing spring pack, although the rear of your truck will still rise a bit.

My dad did this on his 94. You'll have to get the front end aligned afterwards because of the added rear height.
