After a week of dealing with 2 trucks with trans problems. I walked into my shop and see two brown boxes setting in the corner. I looked at the top one and see Raylar on it. I instantly ripped the box open and see a aluminum head in it. Pulled it and gave it a good looken over. They very good quality well designed heads. Now the only thing missing is the intake. As soon as I can get it together and tuned I will post up some dyno#. :flag::P:D:devil::mad:

what are u running for exhaust? i just got an 05 2500hd 496 it has dual 3" to the muffler than t's into the 3.5 tail pipe. i have found that gibson, hedman, make bolt in tube headersto obivously replace the cast iron. do u have any experience or now has tried them. i know that hedman's is still wating on the wounderful sate of CA to get the eo#so no cost yet but they are running 1.75 in primaries.

does any one know how makes exhaust that will clear goosneck hitched???

My truck had custom exhaust on it. I bought it used and the previous owner had a pare of Magnaflow mufflers with dual 3" pips the rest the way out. I changed it to a X-pipe with resonators and two large mufflers in attempt to keep it quiet without restricting flow. Unfortunately it didn't work every time I went under a bridge it would make you duck and say what the hell was that.?! Now I have a stock muffler and tail pipe to put back on it to cut the noise. I'm going to put electric cut outs between the resonators and muffler. I also had a set of The Other Guy headers on it. They're mid-length and are heavily built. I noticed a significant gain down low but only a small gain up top. I plan on switching to long tubes in the future. The exhaust ports on the 8.1 are very small for a big block. This would explain why most of the headers out there for it have such small primary tubed.

thankx for the info. im looking forward at geting a kit from raylar and gibson headers 1.75 prim to 3"col would like 2 " but that is not going to happen in a bolt in replacement. i agree in the exhaust ports of the heads. i do know that ther are mainly three standard primary tubes 1.75, 1.875, and 2 anything bigger ur looking at race headers and someserious pockt change. i believe the std exhaust port are bout 1.5" iv got pair of 50 series delta flow flowmasters 3 chambers and they do a nice job. they dumpr pass. side in front of the wheel. they are louder than expected, under bridges and cement maridians. mainly under throtle but we are talking dual 3" not 2.5 or 2" pipes here. and almost 500 in that we engoy so much. it more volume than than decibels that you are hearing. i have done worse.

thanks again

like to see how that raylar kit works for you

tire rod dont know if this is your kit got this from ray this is the whole top end kit with the base cam :devil:

Our BCK102 kit on a 8.1 engine with good exhaust and your ECM

reprogrammed properly by someone like Westers, or Faschip with the

marine

45lb/per hour injectors will produce about 500HP at the crank and the

torque

ratings from our dyno testing are about 605ft/lbs at the crank at

3800rpms.

The power band on our truck kit is designed to run from 2000 rpms to

4500

rpms with the torque levels at all these rpms that have actually tested

on

the dyno at 500ft/lbs all the way to over 5000rpms. The kit is designed

to

run on 87 octane and our quickburn chamber cylinder head produces

maximum

horesepower at only 28 degrees of advance, which means no detonation or

fuel

issues whatsoever. The 8.1 engine with our kit has a torque curve like a

Duramax diesel and a couple of customers including my truck are

actually

seeing better milage under load towing and cruising.

Hope you become a customer. You will not be dissapointed!

Ray @ Raylar

if thats not enough the new 572ci crate motor is also a gen 6 block 4.56 bor by 4.375 it fit in your block with some clearnceing work on the block cna u say bout 700hp and bout 800lbs on pump gas.... and speedomotive can make it the rotating assembly

Unfortunately the 8.1l is different and will not interchange with the old big blocks. If it did I would already have a 572 shot block.

jost got off the phone with speed omotive and that kit will fit in the 8.1l blocks. the 8.1l bottom half is a 1 peice seal gen 6 block same as the 454 ho 502 ho, zz502 and zz572 blocks. none off gm crate motor a gen 4 or 5 blocks. i have their 05 gmpp catalog here with me. jet like the 86 and 87 sbc the main differneces are one peice seals in teh crank, roller cams, and the intake to cylinder head flange are different. if u anted to u could change the cam run a distributor and a carb by changing the heads and maniflod. the gen 6 block have running in the truck since late 90s nothing new. still the only thing bigger displacment wise is the 8.3 viper motor. just got to aske the right questions if it didnt work i would nt be doing it as soon as get the money. the main thing that is new is the heads and intake manifold and coil pack.

not tring to piss u off or anything
