OK Folks! Here it is plain and simple.

I am looking for the differences between a regular '99 Tahoe, and my '99 Tahoe Police Package. I am looking for technical Spec differences as well as looks and style. After I get a some posts, I will share what I know, and we can all learn together.

VIN #1GNEC13R2XR152128

OK! Folks, I am looking for detail. Have at it.

certified 130mph speedo on the police tahoe

civilian has 100mph speedo with a speed limiter

The police tahoe has a very base interior usually consisting of blue buckets up front with a blue vynil bench in the back.

Z56 is lowered about an inch compared to a civilian 2WD Tahoe

you also get a switch to turn the daytime running lights off.

It also came with the dual batteries, and a 140 amp alternator used to power police radios, lights, ect.

Check out this PDF file if you are interested in the specs. This answers one of my bigger questions. The user manual stated that you should not tow with this vehicle. Which kinda bummed me out. Now I know why. According to this brochure the rear end is a 3.08:1. This is a pursuit vehicle. That is why it comes with V rated tires, which I have on my vehicle. However, you will not find me in the 100+ mph club. Had enough of that when I was a teenager, not that I do not enjoy it, I just can't afford it. Insurance, court costs! Ouch!!!!!! Maybe I will visit Montana some day and try out my V-rated tires. Other differences are

reinforced frame

Heavy Duty Suspension rear and front

heavy duty brakes

locking differential

serious electrical power options :flag:

Engine, Transmission, Power Steering coolers

Interiors are more crude yet prctical, My seats are cloth, floor is rubber and easy to clean for dirty boots (Like after they finish stepping on your face, it is easy to clean off the blood)

The details are in the PDF

Looks like dual batteries is an option, not standard.

and

Don't forget the butt-ugly wheels.

Yea the overall looks of the vehicle are pretty dim. Very plain to say the least. Seeing it you would not think it is a '99, The grille and lights looks like an oversized S-10. I really only bought it as a family vehicle, so looks are not the objective. However, this truck could easily be a bad arse! It is ready with large brakes for some larger wheels, and a fancy grille with some flared sides would go a long way.

Oh Well, Butt ugly is where it will stay until I have some play money.

However, I will take the five brand new gooyear V-rated tires it came with on those but ugly steel rims. :D
