damammel Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I'm trying to find out more info about the 2-3 inch kits. How does the angle of the CV axles look after this kit has been installed? Did anybody install the replacement pitman and idler. I don't want to go much higher than this kit because of the plow. Thanks, Derek
Freyguy Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 A guy over on www.thedieselplace.com went with the full kit with the pitman and idler kit and the dual shock mount. He's got a good amount of pics over there too. Says it rides much better now.
8100HD Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 CV angles do not change with this kit as it does not lower the front diff. Cognito does not offer idler/pitman arm replacements..just very stout braces. This kit does however put your upper balljoint back to a stock position and adds droop travel to the front suspension. There are a couple pics of the install on my cardomain page.

damammel Posted March 9, 2005 Author Posted March 9, 2005 Freyguy, Do you know who is the person on the diesel page with the kit? Thanks for the quick responses. I thought that the cv angles would change like when the t-bars are cranked.
Valsport Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 you're right. whoever said cv angles stay the same when the diff is NOT moved is wrong. the diff has to be dropped in an ifs lift for cv angles not to change.
8100HD Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 To reclarify..I meant that your CV angles won't change from where they are now...so if they are bad now they will be just as bad later. damammel, I do have the kit installed on my HD..minus the dual shock set-up...which is not needed for the install. What questions do you have?

How long have you had the kit installed and what shocks did you use? Thanks
Freyguy Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Here's a link to the thread. There is one pic where you can see the angle. Hopefully it's legal to post it here. If not, feel free to remove it. http://www.thedieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24156 The guys name is Duramax Dually.
8100HD Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I am using Edelbrock Xtreme Travel shocks..they have roughly 3/4-1" of travel left at full droop..therefore the uca stop is in fact doing its job..not like how GM sets them up where the shock is the limiting factor.
damammel Posted March 12, 2005 Author Posted March 12, 2005 Everybody, thanks for the help. I will be ordering this kit soon. Derek
