Best "rear end"

I am finalizing the truck order today! Its a sport red 1500

crew cab z71. I think 3:73 gears? That is my only thing I

am not sure of. The 3:42 is not an option in my mind.

Its between the 3:73 and 4:10?????/

I will drive the truck about 8k per year and will tow a 3000

lb boat for about 1k of that. Also need to be able to move

my 30 ft camper(5500 lbs) if needed. It is on a permanent

campsite so I shouldnt need to move it but you never know.

Most of my other driving is in town. With gas going sky high

the 3:73 seems to be the way to go.

What do you guys think?

You should be fine with the 3.73. Assuming unload mpg of 17 with the 3.73 and 15 with the 4.10, 8K per year, and gas price of $2.50 a gallon, it's about $160 a year difference in gas.

Don't forget to specify the locking rear diff.

Yes I did get the locking rear its part of the z71

 

I did pick the 3:73 its a done deal now I have to

wait 5 weeks
