Ignition Switch

Recommended Posts

Alright, So I had the gauge cluster act up, and being a Nissan Tech, Immediately replaced it with a Denali cluster because I wanted one anyways. Still did not fix my problem. I read a TSB on mitchell at work about replacing the ignition switch. Any chevy techs know if I need to replace just the electrical portion of the switch, or the whole thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My problem is not as urgent as it is in the TSB, because my check engine light came on and it went into fail safe once where the tranny was in third gear, but went to the bar, came out and it was fine the gauges just sweep every now and again and kicks the trans out of OD when it happens.

I had that happed twice to my 02' Sierra. The first time it was the ingition switch ($96.00 from the dealer)and the second time it was a wire in the cluster harness (pink wire- off/run/crank voltage). If you have any questions let me know since I have had to trouble shoot the stupid thing 2 times.
