I closed on my house today guys!!! Already moved a lot of my little bit of stuff, just got a bed, dresser, desk, TV center and a few little things to go. I don't "move in to tlive" for another day or two. sprayed the house with that spectricide insect stuff all around windoes doors and the closet corners, and outside along the entire foundation. I HATE bugs, so I'm really glad that the insulation I have is anti-insect stuff. Hopefully I'll be done preparing it this weekend and be in by sunday latest, maybe staurday, but not sure.

The blinds on't be ready for roughly 2 weeks from tomorrow, so I', doing the "ghetto blinds"....those 3M easy release stricky hooks that don't like any adhesive behind on the walls, and shower curtains and old sheet to cover the windows on the hooks. :flag:

Will have three paycheck until my first house payment, so maybe I'll get that TV soon after all.

Plan is is 1.)Blinds, 2.)Vaccum and Lawnmower3.)Sofa/Loveseat/Table 4.) TV and or [5.)]guttering.....so far. I'm sure I find stuff I need in the meantime, so something will get pushed back I'm sure. :D Here's to good ol' American oppurtunity!

Ths also means that in a few days from now, You won't see me too much for the next few months. But when I do get my own PC, I'm gonna uild it, and make it mean.....

My probelm there is trying to decide between the Athlon 64 4000+, or the Athlon 64-X2 4400+.....The X2 is techincally faster because it's dual core, but the 4000+ is practically a .1-.2 Ghz slower 64FX(the gaming processor, the new FX-57 will be out soon to eplace the 55, since the 4000+ so is close in performance it's not worth the $150 price difference).....I'll probably go with the 4000+ since I'll go for gaming, and would will have it concenrating on just the game anyway....with at least a gig, maybe two, of DDR2, and a PCIe board with nVidia chipset.

Congratulations on the house! I just finished building my own place in January and closed on it. Closings are always fun... A house is a good investment.... If it rains there like it rains here-get the gutters first before the TV. Backsplash against your siding stinks!! Congratulations again!

It didn't come with gutters? That's the strangest thing I've heard in a while.

And 2500HD4X, 90% of all houses here are brick (his is), so backsplash on the siding really isn't an issue

Depends on what you want the computer to do..

Are you mainly going to be playing demanding games, with nothing else running in the background? Or only running one or two programs at a time? If so go with the 4000.

Are you going to be like me and have about 8-10 windows open at a given time? Then wtih all the stuff in the background want to maybe opne a game with out closing other stuff. Or do you use any multithreaded apps like Photoshop? Then go X2.

Right now the A64 are only running DDR.

If you go 4000+ go with the San Diego core. It has the updated mem controller so you can run 4 sticks of RAM at full speed, since you were talking about a lot of RAM. It also runs cooler.

Congratulations!

Now get to work - in the yard, in the house, fix the leaks, kill the fire ants, put a new blade on the mower, fix the fence, etc, etc, etc.

Having your own little peice of the planet is soooooo cool, but there is a lot to keeping it up.

Good luck - enjoy it!

Only dread I have with my house is the HOA weed Nazi's.

I'm in a new development. The lot next to me hasn't been reserved yet and I get a notice from the HOA to clean up the tumbleweeds all over that lot. When I call them on it, they say yes it's the builders responibility, but I'm the one next to it so it makes me responsible for the cleanup.

Well that HOA is now placed on the AZ attorney generals list for cease and desist orders of immoral and bad corporate practices of a non-profit organization.

The builder didn't quite clean it up. It's now a staging lot for materials for some of the other houses to be built. My how weeds seem to disappear with 5 truck loads of landscaping rock/boulders and 60 pallets of ceramic composite roof shingles placed on top of them.

mom and dad's neighbors are building out by me and have a buyer for their place, so they've got to be out earlier than theirs will be done. Thus, today was spent looking at some extended stay places. Better them than me. It'll be 2 years in the house in October for me. You'll love it, but as noted above, there's always something to be done.

Congratualtions man!!!! Hopefully in a year or two, I may be able to do the same thing. However, I just gotta see if I can find a house for less than 400k here in Fairfax!

-Tucson_02, the first time I read your post, I thought you were talking bout the wacky tabacky! Which would be funny in it's own right :fume:

Even with all the smugglers coming across the border, those weed seeds aren't prevelant in everybodies yards.....but if they were and grew just as fast, by now I would have several houses and vehicles with cash to throw at strangers.
