Headlight flicker on new Trailblazer

Hello all.

We recently purchased a new 2005 Chev Trailblazer LS. When driving at night, I see, intermitantly, a flicker of the head lights. I know there is a Service Bulletin for it, but cannot find out what the SB says about it. I really hate to take the car in and leave it for service, but...

Can anyone tell me about the flicker problem and what is involved with the Fix. I assume only the dealer can fix it, but would like to do so myself if its something simple.

Thanks.

It "might" be your electric coolant fans kicking in, although I haven't noticed this at night time with my '05 Silverado.

But, I think you really need to take it in. You need the dealer to inherit the problem. And you need to get the problem documented into the dealer's computer, so that if you have future electrical issues, even at high mileage past warranty, a "good-will" warranty would probably be issued. Even if the service guy is really nice who offers to quickly look at the issue himself, and he solves the problem, you still insist this be documented with a service write-up.

I think getting a warranty issue, or a complaint or inquiry, documented into a vehicle's history is just as important as getting the problem fixed.

In short, my take is to do a simple inspection to see if it is something simple, but take it into the dealer. Don't try to fix it yourself (hacking, cutting, crimping, taping wire). Have the dealer inherit the problem.
