Rough Running at idle after startup

The last few days when starting my truck it's been running rough and basically shaking a bit. Today I went out to lunch with a friend, then went back to his house and played Playstation for about a half hour. When I came out to start the truck, it wouldn't start on the first try- cranking it for a few seconds as usual. When I released the key and tried again, it started but then ran rough while idling like it has done the last few days. After giving it some gas and pulling out, it runs fine.

 

The dealer replaced my fuel pump in 11/04 after I took the truck in there when it wouldn't start on the first try after sitting at work all day.

 

I called them today and the advisor thought it might be the Fuel Pressure Regulartor which is what was suggested to me when I posted on my problems last fall. I went there and Paul pulled the hose and said it looked dry as if there was no leak. They're due to check it out tomorrow. Any thoughts? The plugs have been changed twice already, and the wires have been changed out as well. The truck has about 82,500 on it.

We used to have a lot of problems with injectors clogging, though I haven't seen it so much lately. The injector design didn't change so I can only assume that the oil companies changed something in the gas formulation to help prevent deposits from forming.

 

But, you still could have that going on. The regulator leaking is another concern we see, and you don't always see fuel on the first look. Let it run with the hose off for a bit. Let it sit for a bit not running with the hose off. You might see fuel bubble out one of those times.

Well they fired it up after doing the front axle seals and sure enough, the regular leaked. They replaced that and she's been good to go. Thanks.
