Did you have a encounter with a billet grille that left you with a scar for life? Sure there's a lot of them out there, but for me it was an low-cost upgrade until later. And I like it.

Not everyone has the money to convert their stock looking GMC to a stock looking Denali front end...

Smooth, I think it looks good :chevy:

What brand is your insert? Did you have to cut anything?

I am thinking about something for the front of my GMC, the factory grille isnt the most attractive. Id love to go Denali but I dont think it would look right with my two-tone.

THANKS 01silverado2500! The grille was sold as a Putco model and its actually stainless steel NOT billet aluminum - no cutting involved...pretty nice fit too. The one thing I did do was black out the top and bottom edges of the bars. I feel the same as you about the factory grille, love the truck but the factory grille screams utility truck. :chevy:

Here is another one for $10 currently...

Blacking out of the emblem was simply some careful taping, scuffing the part to be painted, paint and clear. It adds alot with the black truck - the red just doesn't look right IMOH :flag:

The grille is held in place via some flat padded bars, long bolts with factory thread loc and wing nuts.

Very sharp man. When I read you'd blacked otu your GMC emblem my initial reaction was  , but I saw it and its pretty darn cool lookin' man! I like how the GMC has the chrome border with the billet. Very sharp.

smooth,

The grill looks great (though I guess I'm partial having one on my Silverado) and the blackout GMC is great too. I havn't seen that one like that yet.

I might get flamed for this, but I really LIKE the stock black grille with the red GMC letters. I had an '84 GMC and it had a plastic silver grille. I painted it black and masked out the letters so they would still be red when I was done. I thought it was a vast improvement. Here's a pic of the after, can't find any of it before. Man I still miss that truck.

I love that grille and the blacked out GMC emblem. You did a great job on that.

I also bought a billet grille from Ebay just last night. My truck is white, so, how do you think it would look if I "white out" my emblem?

How long did it take you to do that?
