Intermediate shaft

Hello all,

Just thought I would mention that I took my 2005 Silverado into the GM dealer last week for that annoying clunk in wheel. They gave the shaft the grease job via part # 26098419. Told me that if it returns a new shaft would be in order. My truck just turned the 32000km mark. I wonder if this problem will continue to exist on the 2006?

I thought 05s would be made with the new shaft? Honestly, from the outside, nothing new about it...I went to buy the lube kit th eother night, and I asked to see the new shaft. It looked identical...

I got the new shaft in April, was great for about two months. It is back to clunking. It does look the same. Unless the dealer lied and put in a old one, don't think so b/c I had to wait for the part it was on backorder so I think it is the new one. It does not get rid of the problem, well it does for bout 6 to 10 thousand miles. Same as the lube kit.

Having 32000 mi you must be living in your truck. That figures out to about 4000 mi a month. I like my truck but not that much.

He dosen't have quite that much on it,He lives in Canada,They go by kilometers, he has 32,000KM on it,Not miles. (So he probably has around 16,000 miles on it)
