Mobil 1 EP

As you know I have a '03 Silverado, it has 25k on the clock. It's had Mobil 1 form 400 miles. My ? is if I go to using EP CAN GM void my warranty? What are your thoughts? Stick with regular Mobil 1 or go to EP?

The difference between the EP and the regular Mobil 1 is the ammount of detergents in the oil. From what I understand, the EP does not meet the specs set forth by GM. Check your owners manual, it will tell you what the certification is then check the back of the bottle for that mark. If it does not have the mark, GM could cancel your warranty. But that would only happen if you blow the motor and then Mobil 1 should pick up the tab anyway. Just my $.02.

The manual just says to use oil with the starburst and that it be 5W-30, dose EP have the starburst?
