Stock air Tube

Whats the diff between the Silverado's, SS, hoe's and burb's, I've seen some with the baffel on the top, and like mine it's going down next to the fan shroud, is there a beeny to any of these.

 

I have also heard of a mod to cut it off,

Cutting the little tube will do nothing for performance - it's to quell down the intake noise.
