Dressing an Avalanche.....tastefully

I remember a couple of years ago when the 'concept' AV came out.  My first thought?  HOLY CRAP!  I HAVE to have one of those.  Well, now that the AV's are in production the 'off the lot' look doesn't catch me as it did in concept form a couple of years ago.  My question is, what's changed?  Does anyone have concept photos of the AV?  Here's a pic I found which I 'think' is from the early stages.  Notice the deep dish wheels.  The polished look of the wheels really adds a lot to the look in my opinion.  To me it takes the focus off the cladding and really rounds out the truck.

Please, if anyone has early stages pics of the AV post them by all means.  I really like these trucks and one may be in my future.

If anyone has pics but you don't have anywhere to host them send them to me and I'll put them in here for people to see.  :D

Thanks,

Travis

I agree, there were some nice items dropped from the prototype.  My 2500 has the same type of wheel, without the 'deep dish' (shallow dish??), and yes, the highly polished alum. looks great (IMHO anyway).

I would love the fuel cap, and the carmine red of the prototype, but thankfully the frog eye overhead lights died.  I have posted a couple of pics of mine on my photopoint page, but with it's demise, I will have to find a new home to share from.

All I have added is ventvisors, bug guard, and moulded mud flaps.  I am waiting to add side step bars, a small push grill (ie. Smittybilt Outland Sport), and remount my PIAA Dual Sport driving/fog combo lights.  I like understated but slick, not into lifts and the agressive look, just like it to be a bit stylized, classy and distinct.

ScottS - might want to check a new front grill by WAAG - looks like in might fit around all of the openings that we have in the fron - I am trying to contact them now.

BigBlkAvalanche has aftermarket rims (chrome or polished, I'm not sure which) and 285 Micky Thompson tires on his Av.  It looks great!!!

From the pics posted here I would love to see the chrome door handles and tailgate handle. The white lettering on the Avalanche looks great. One more thing that  looks awesome is the dual exhaust with the oval tips.

All these things would look great on these trucks.IMO

You guys can add the chrome handles to your AV's..  Part #

FRONT DOORS

# 15745148 - RH

# 15745149 - LH

BACK DOORS

# 15745141 - LH

# 15745140 - RH

Since yours are already painted, just use the chrome handle on your existing bezel.  This is a cheap and easy upgrade.

TGT,

You need to just go and test drive one. That is all you will need to be sold on the AV.

Another AV member,

You could get the chrome tailgate handle off an EXT..

Anyone have a vin for one of these yet?  I bet you AV owners could get a bunch of cool mods from these.

YES it does!  :D

BigBlkAvalanche:

Here's a couple of places to start that I've had experiences with.  Mobile Image and Reflective Concepts.  They are both very good guys I've gotten to know through my other hobby and may be able to help you out.

Good Luck!

GMPD replied w/the part # for the chrome tailgate handle for these.  #15770040

They don't come up in the search..  I replied to them for the price.  If they are reasonable, I think I will order one and see if I can get it to fit my truck.

I checked the price at www.gmpartsdirect.com and the price for the door handles is $21.74 each, if you are interested. Still no price for the tail gate though.

What was the part number on the escalade gauge cluster?
