increasing ride height

Recommended Posts

I have a new 1500 SLE Crewcab and would like to mimic the same ride height of the 2500HD. I know I can install leaf spring helpers to get +2" at the rear. How do I adjust the torsion bars at the front to get the same increase in height? Since I have the Z71 and heavy duty trailering package, do I still need to change my stock shocks?

Thanks

you should be able to just crank the front torsion bars to increase ride height in front to match rear. you may not be able to match the extra 2" or so from the extra spring, but you can certainly increase the height in front. i know it is possible to give em a turn and match the front-to-rear height stock with a tow-pkg, so it looks level without anything done to the rear leaf springs, but im not too positive about any farther than that so that you can match a add-a-leaf in the rear. one thing to remember though: as soon as you crank your front torsions, make sure you get an alignment done immediately afterward.
