What should I do?

I need advice. I have a 2004 Crew Cab 4X4 that I had the t-bars cranked on and the ride was horrible so I had them dropped almost to stock height. I realy liked the look of the truck with the t-bars cranked up. Should I go with a 2-3" body lift or a 3" suspension lift? I would rather not put a lot of $$$ into a suspension lift, but if it is the way to go I'll sacrifice. I'm running 285's with stock wheels.

Thanks

Just me personally, but I don't like body lifts. Leaves ugly gaps. Seems like the cheap way around the issue. But that's just me

If you're just looking to level, a couple options are lift spindles, new keys for your t-bars. I installed some lift spindles on a bud's truck a couple weekends ago, it's a pretty easy job.

He already tried cranking up the t-bars and didn't like it. Adding keys for more crank would be componding the problem.

Problem with a body lift is you will still have the front rake. Looks like the 3" lift is the only way to get the results you want.

Take a look at http://www.chevy4x4trucks.com/ and you can see the body lift that i installed. Price wise it is the cheapest (less than 300 bucks and a day of worK). There is the issue of gaps, but there is stuff you can do to fix that so i wouldn't worry about it.

Suspension lifts are nice if you want to invest a few thousand dollars.

You can easily fit some 305's with the body lift and even stick in some 315's with the right backspacing on the rims.

I know this thread is old, but you can do what I did. I put a BL on my truck to clear the 305's. Then I exchanged the stock 2" rear block for a 1". This let the back end down 1". So I effectively have 3" of lift on the front and 2" on the rear. Then I cranked the Tbars just a little (maybe 2 rounds) to complete the leveling. The ride is a little stiffer than stock but nothing like it was when the bars were cranked all the way up with the stock keys.

Sure, do a BL then add the $60 gap guards and put some $250 nerf bars and it is still less frame showing then a 2500 truck. I couldn't make up my mind so I went with both, just kidding.

I had to go 8" susp and 3" body to clear the 16" x 12" wide Wheels with 36" x 14.50 Parnelli Jones tires.

Good luck
