Surprised at quick turn around on PCM tune.

Just a post to thank Jesse at Wait4mePerformance for the quick turn-around on my PCM.

I send the unit out on Tuesday (day after Labor Day) at noon, Priority Mail, like $8.00 and change with insurance, and I was very surprised to receive it back on this past Saturday.

5 days, there and back was great. :P I was expecting to see it sometime later this week.

I plugged it back in and drove the truck Saturday night. No codes, no check engine light, all normal.

I asked for the gas mileage / economy tune, so I’ll be checking the mileage gain, but what I did notice as soon I went down the street was the improved shifting. Now very smooth shift from 1st to 2nd and can’t even feel it into 3rd.

I can’t say to much about a horsepower gain, from what I remember, acceleration still feels the same.

You probalby won't notice much of oa HP gain with the economy tune. Let us know what kind of mileage gains you get with it. I had a 87-91 tune done and my city mileage is about 1.5-2 miles better.

Same result here with my gas mileage tune on my HD. Although did notice it pulled harder from 3000-5500 rpm. Just sent my other PCM to Jesse on Sat to get the performance tune on it along with another gas mileage tune for another truck. Best bang for your buck mod yet!

Tahoe,

$75 if you send your PCM to him.

$150 if you buy one

plus 7.70 for shipping.

WOW

So i did some searching, and it seems you can have him do quite a bit, and I guess I am confused as to some of the things he can do.

What does he change to make MPG better, and nothing is FREE...so what do I lose by doing this?

I got the 87 tune, don't know what gas milage I'm getting yet.

The truck is not the same as it was.

Now it runs great, idles smooth, shifts great, and the brakes feel better to me. (not sure why)

Best $157.70 I've ever spent

Thanx Jessie

Well I guess i have been under a rock ;)  I need to look into this.

and s**t, for worst case you have the OEM one to go back to..

Definitely the way to go. Keep the oem especially if you are under warranty. Swap the oem in for your dealer visit and they are none the wiser

I HIGHLY recommend a custom tune. I am very happy with mine (wait4me).

the postman left mine in the front of the house in plain view. I'd see if I could get a tracking number and see where it's at. Most people wouldn't know what it is , but I think someone might take a package left like that.
