Brake light warning

My wife tell me last week going to store and notice the yellow ABS and Red Brake light was on no tble stopping went inside- and out drove home no light . I drove for abot 4 days not able to get happen. check a good one over. and did abrout stops in a parking lot frd, and rev all looks good no leaks or anything.

So Today driving from wife job both lights, come on able to brake normal ???

anyone have this type of problem??

What model & year ?

 

Do you hear a motor running under the vehicle when

you have the abs & brake lights on?

 

If yes it's probably the abs brake module going out,

if the motor runs with the key out, remove the abs fuse

and you will have normal braking but not abs.

 

The module can be repaired for about $150 .

got it back yesterday and the problem was a ECBM module had a short had to repace module 890.00 later under warranty though. so i luck ed out it payed for itself already.

3x this last week my 01 Tahoe also threw the ABS and Brake lights for a few trips, then it went off. Checked the codes and indeed there was a code for "ECBM (or EBCM?) Motor" - did not know what that was until I just read your post.

 

Was yours covered under extended warranty? (it seems your standard warranty would be out by now, like mine). I have GMPP, so if yours was covered by ext warr I will go that route instead of order module from GM Parts Direct or similar.

yes extended warranty covered it the module was 890. laber 74.00 per hr. the extened warranty paid for it self in covered repairs.
