Intermittent cruise control failure?

On my 05, I have an intermittent problem with my cruise control. It is rare, but it has happened at least three times of late. As best as I can describe my symtoms, this is the scenario. I've been coasting on cruise for some time. I pull off to the side and shut off the engine. Can be a rest area or a fuel stop. I fire it back up, get it back on the interstate and the cruise control will not work at all for hours. I pull over to the side. Shut the engine off. Wait 30 seconds. Fire up, drive away and the cruise works fine. In each of the cases I've been in tow mode and its been modestly warm to hot.

Anyone else seen this?

I have also experienced a similar problem, The cruise won't set or turn on. The solution to my problem is to tap the brakes or use them. This seems to reset the cruise computer and allows it to work again.

Mine has done that ..I wasn't in tow /haul.

Get back in from going P at the rest area and then no cruise......drove for about 5 minutes pulled off....turned it off back on down the road still no cruise.....20 minutes screwwing with everything and bammm just starts working again?

I did use it before it happened for about 500 miles so maybe it was tired and needed a break
