Electric Fans or computer programmer?

I'm looking to increase my gas mileage and performance and I'm thinking of buying either an electric fan kit or a power programmer (like the Predator). Which do you think will give me the best gains for the $$. I'm getting between 14 and 17 MPG right now depending on where I'm driving.

Neither by themselves will pay for themselves in fuel savings until several months down the road.

 

I have an '05 with fan. While nice, and "state of the art", it along with several other items give about a 2 MPG improvement over previous years. That's not much improvement.

I have the predator and gained a bit. Elec. fans would also free up a bit of hp but the cost would take awhile to justify in gas milage gains. The useable hp difference would be worth it though.

The best way to control the fans is with the PCM. You will need a tune to reprogram the PCM for fan control. There are mail order tunners that are cheaper and better than any handheld. I don't know of any handheld that will enable lean cruise programing for better milage.
