Speker Removal

Do I have to remove the entire front and rear door panels on my '01 2500HD crew cab to get to the speakers? Are the panels held on with metal or plastic clips. They "need" to be replaced.

I know my new body style '99 door panels have to come off. I'd say yours is the same. They come off pretty easy though. Pop off the triangle trim piece near the mirror, pop off the windows/door lock switch cover, remove 2 or three screws on the panel, lift up on the door panel and it's off. You'll have to disconnect a couple wiring harnesses too. No more of those old plastic Christmas tree looking clips that would wear out and leave you with a loose door panel.

Thanks for the info, it was just a few screws and a lift. A pair of Polk Audio components and 6.5 rears are on the way.

 

I've got a bro at Shaw flying vipers, he always raves about getting to expend some of those weapons you are loading! Let the boys up there know if they want a real ride to come down to Moody and I'll take them out on a pavehawk.
