Power Window Switch Light

I thought the power window switches, and mirror adjustment switch on the driver side door, on my 2000 Chevy 1500 Silverado were back lit in the center of the switch. Last night the panel was completely dark.

Am I just imagining that the switches lit up? If they did light up, how do I check them or replace the bulb (if there is one)?
