firerage101 Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Pretty straight forward list your miles, and year and engine size. Lets get an idea of how many miles we can go before we run into problems. 2005 5.3. I have 20,000 //// no problems as of yet other than a belt tensoner
PELICAN Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 I bought mine new back in Jan 2002. I have a 4.8 with 101245 miles. the only problem I have had is the radio went out the second week I had her. I would post how many hours are on the engine but do not remember how to do that.
sincityZ71 Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 2001 Silverado, 5.3L...bought in July 2001. I have just shy of 48,000 miles on her, a majority of which are city miles . I have had a few problems with the truck such as some leaks due to bad seals, the cruise control went out after 18,000 miles even though it had only been used a couple times, she burns oil a bit too much (since about 20,000 miles), and my anti-lock brakes are all screwy but I live on the wrong side of the country for that recall. Those are the main problems I have had, but overall all still a fairly good truck.
Truckman031 Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 1998 Blazer 4.3 with 61,000 miles. I have replaced the lower intake gasket, ac compressor, idler arm, and a few other little things in the past 1 1/2 years that I've had it.
Black02Silverado Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 02 Silverado 5.3L bought in Nov of 01. It just turned over 68k, the only problems so far have been a leaking battery, radio went out and was replaced, the driverside speaker in the door has come loose twice, had the steering wheel shaft noise fixed as well as the nickle plated slip yoke installed. Most of my mileage is not put on the Jetta. I have put 13k miles on it since I bought it back in March of 04. Engine is running strong and all the oil analysis reports are coming back good as well.
antig24 Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 95' C2500 Chevrolet 5.7L 65,000 miles, Runs great
Metz Motorsports Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 95625 miles on my '02 1500HD 6.0L. I bought it with 86k about a year and half ago, but the only thing I've had to do to it was the serp. belt and a battery just a few days ago. The truck seems solid, and have been driving for a week straight with it in 4wd, not even any noises!
Beer Belly Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 2004 2500HD Ext. Cab, 6.0L...bought July of '04. Front Diff replaced that December...shortly thereafter, the Steering Knuckle replaced. The Spring of '05 the Diff Seals were leaking and needed new....Fall of '05, another steering Knuckle. I love my truck, but would feel better if I could go more than 6 months without a problem, otherwise it's gone after warranty runs out.

LogixRat Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 I sold mine and am currently in the market for another, but here is a run down of mine. '02 with 45k. Wind leak around passenger side windshielf area (fixed twice). Suicide doors on extended cab not aligned properly and squeaked like crazy...applied "anti-squeak" tape twice by dealer. Catalytic converter had to be replaced around the 30k mark. Lost almost all power while driving, check engine lights came on, etc, etc. Ran fine after that.
GM GIMP Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 2002, 1500HD GMC with 28,000mi. 6.0L. O2 sensor replaced under warranty. Otherwise no problems. Almost all miles are towing my racecar and trailer (about 9,000 lbs.).
