Super 40 vs 50 Delta Flow Muffler

I have a 02 Silvy w/ the 5.3. I bought a flowmaster kit - dual rear exit with the 70 series big block delta muffler. I like the kit, but it is way too quiet, I can barely tell the difference from stock.

What I am looking for is a good throaty sound, but not a lot of drone or resonance while cruising from 55 to 75. I am going to buy another muffler with the same offsets, so I can keep my kit and just add an extension piece.

I am debating between the Super 40 and the Delta 50. I'm leaning towards the 40 as I think the 50 might still be too quiet for me.

Also, I have a resonater with the original kit.

Any thoughts?

If you dont want the drone. Stay far, far away from Chokemasters. Go Magnaflow or Hooker AeroChamber.

As for your current setup being so quiet, you can thank the resonator for that.

I had the single end / dual out 50-series delta flowmaster.... I liked the sound (not too loud) but it did have a bad drone at highway speed. It was not as bad as the flowmaster 40-series on my T/A but bad enough to disturb you while trying to carry on a conversation.

If anyone is interested...

I went with the Super 40, and am very glad I did. 99Silver5.3 is right, the flowmaster resonator really quiets it down, there is absolutely no drone in the cab and if I have the cruise on from 50-80mph, you can't tell the difference from stock. It's sounds good on the outside though....
