I have a 2000 GMC Sierra, SLE, Reg Cab, Z71

What I would like to know is the proper placement for the headlights from factory. My headlights on my truck seem to be to low and point down to the ground. I know how to adjust them but i cant tell if Iam to high or if they are equal.

Is there an easy way to set them to factory again?

If there is can you give me the details on how they do it.

Thanks Tim

There are several ways. We use a gauge that hooks to the headlight itself by suction. When we used to have state safety inspections here, we had a machine that was on tracks and it read the candlepower and allow very easy adjustment of the lights.

The "manual" method is to do it agains a flat, blank wall. There's a grid that has to be laid out and you position the vehicle a specific distance from the wall. The vehicle has to be on level ground too.

Do you know the manual distances?

Distance from wall?

Distance to center of beam on wall from the ground?

Grid distance?

Is this something I can do myself or do I need to take it to the GM exper?
