With all my truck woes I've always got one eye looking. Anyways I've heard so much about this Challenger I did some hunting...............love the front end, back end is blah......better than a Charger though...............and a 6 speed :) HEMI .......yikes...a girl could have a lot of fun with this one..........I wonder if it comes in Plum Crazy?

Check it out at the link below. I've heard it's just a concept and won't be put in production, which I think is totally stupid considering how the new mustang's are selling. We shall see how smart Chrysler really is.

Is it hot or not?????

I bought a 1970 Challenger brand new and so have certain passion for the car. But, as compared to the new Mustang, this one just doesn't seem to continue the ''challenger'' design, at least for me. Oh, the suggestions are there, such as the hood and the wide headlight grin, but it just ain't there---for me.

For some reason the new Chrysler 300 is attractive to me and the reviews have been excellent, but I'm in no hurry. I'm searching for a way to get away from dino fuel. I'll keep the truck, but the dino fuel has got to go for non-truck driving.

My brother has a 1970 Challenger R/T, 383 Magnum, B5 Blue and it's awesome! It was the first stick I drove when I was 13 years old. I am very partial to the Challenger. If it does go into production, he wants to drive to the dealership in his '70 and ask to take the new one for a ride, then tell them nah, I'll keep the old one. :fume: Only my brother......gotta love em. :)

looks like the new mustangs to me

Well, actually, that is a fitting term. The 1970 Challenger, the Pontiac Firebird, and the Chevy Camaro were placed in a category of their own, back in the muscle car era. These were called "pony" cars, no doubt due to the success of the Mustang in the late 60s.

If anyone is not sure of what a Challenger looks like, just go to my gallery, look at the ''camaro'', and you'll find an old photo of my Challenger. Not a good photo, but it shows what one looks like for 1970. It was / is fast: 383 Magnum with 440 heads. It'll scoot.

I placed it in the ''camaro'' section because Dodge and Challenger is not in the database which you have to use.

I had a 72 Challenger. I had a h*ll of a good time in that car and got into a lot of trouble with it. Wish I still had it now. It had a hard time keeping rubber on it's too light rear end. I remember passing a 240Z at 115 mph....twice. He never raced me again after that.

I'll be interested to see the design changes as it comes closer to production, it may look A LOT like that but it will still be drastically different (read: no 20+ inch wheels). I also wonder what kind of weight they are aiming for here? What kind of rear end are they gonna go with, IRS like the new GTOs or stay with a solid axle like the Disgustangs? It's definately attractive!

Should be fun playing around with these in the VR-4 in a year or so :)

Points taken.

But I still can't bring myself to even consider owning a Mopar.

Don't worry.... in ten years or so, you won't. Nor a Ford, nor a GM. It'll all be Nipponese.

I'm personally finding myself more attracted to the Charger. If they made a 2 door model, that would really make me seriously consider.

The Challenger concept also looks good as well. I just hope when (or more importntly IF) they tweak it for production, they don't screw it up too bad. They would be onto something.
