rocker panel rust

is my 99 z71 silverado just a POS or are other having problems with rusting rocker panels and door bottoms? The whole drivers side rocker is without paint (on the underside where you can't see it without bending down) but not all the way through yet so the dealer wouldn't cover it under the warantee (now I'm past the 100000/6 year mark).

My drivers door bottom is showing bubbled paint due to surface rust. At 3-1/2 years old and 58k miles, this is frustrating. The bigger issue is the surface oxidation around the entire inside of the rear aluminum liftgate. I'm also seeing some early paint blistering along the seam on the underside of the hood. I'm working to schedule a meeting with the area GM rep but I don't expect them to cover it. The corrosion warranty is useless considering it requires a complete hole due to rust.

same thing with mine, I bought some husky mudflaps, and some white primer. Ill do a proper fix at the paint shop in the spring.

Very common
