I've smoked two titans w/ my 05' 5.3. The new Vortecs should smother them w/ ease also. I love threads like that. You know the only place you see them is the foreign truck forums too. I wonder if there rearends will heat up and blow during the races?

You gotta love when someone in a "half ton" truck talks about smoking a 2500 or 3500 truck. One guy did mention weight, but he still thinks he can win.

On the other hand, how many of us truck USERS compare 1/4 mile times?? Put 1000 lbs in the bed and tow another 4k and we will see who has the nuts under the hood.

Wanna race, get a CAR!

Wait, in another thread there, I found a guy with common sense. Someone asked if their Titan could smoke an Avy 2500 with the 8.1 big block. Here is his reply:

I can't see what differnce it makes anyway, neither one are race trucks, just everyday drivers. Not trying to piss anyone off, last time I check there wasn't a Titan on the NHRA circuit?

After reading the titan forums before i bought a new truck there tech forum pretty much sealed the deal for me not to even bother giving one of them a test drive! It look like 30% of the people there get stuck with pos lemons that do nothing but break continuously!

Wow I have never met a group of so many ignorant people, all at the same time.

They think their 305 HP motor is the standard for all truck motors to be judged on. But they fail to realise that all the other brands are spotting 1000 lbs on them at least, and can tow, and haul more people than they can comfortably. That and our trucks will make it to our destination.

I hate that place. Those guys think that there trucks have no faults. Wow they drive a fairly new truck line that doesn't have the dependability to back them up. Plus I know that I don't have as much power but I would be able to keep up or pass until my limiter and I have 3.42s.

I love how some of them comment on how other truck drivers are intimidated by their Titan and how guys try to show off/race by punching the gas at intersections.

So, if we look at a Titan sitting beside us, we're either in awe of it or intimidated?! Most of the time I'm overwhelmed with how a truck could end up with a such a fugly nose.

And just because I like to drive away from intersections quickly means that I'm trying to intimidate them or convince them to race?! Maybe I just like to punch the gas...whether their truck is there or not is not really something I concern myself with.

Now I'm really blown away  :

16 Year Old Kid and His Titan

Holy crap he has some awesome kill stories! Apparently he dominates vehicles that have engines smaller than 5.0L! 4.6L Fords and 4.7L Dodges stand no chance! And a V6 Camaro!! Wow, that is one mad tite truck yo!

I can honestly say i've never looked at a titan and thought "oh crap that thing's powerful"

My bro's got a titan, and while they are very comfortable, they get horrible mileage and have no balls. Then again they have 18" wheels and 30~" tires standard, so i don't blame them.

Here's something most people don't understand - The average asian is 5 ' or 5' 2";

the average american is 5'6" for females and 5' 10" for males.

So, many vehicles built by asian company's don't fit us - I'm 6' 5" and the Titan is too small for me - pedals are too close together and there is too little space for my feet.

Also, these vehicles are a nightmare to work on with little space between the components.

I would hazard a guess that since their parts are made offshore their repair bills would also be a lot higher - even for those lemons built in Tn and Ms.

The big three do have some ongoing recall's currently for selected vehicles, but it seems Datsun(Nissan) has problems will ALL their US made vehicles

I did a little reading over there. Kinda funny. 41 members have had their rear differential go bad. Every other one has had brake problems and some one else has 8k on their truck and the doors won't shut. Yet they beat GM's (and fords and dodges) hands down.

Do we(gm-trucks) constantly put other brands down to make us feel better about what we purchased? I just don't see it.

Anyway, I personally like that other vehicles are offered. Imagine how much of a pain it would be to go into a parking lot and try and find your specific truck when thay are all red lifted 03 chevies(I'm using mine as an example) Different is good. Just stop(titan guys) comapring apples and oranges. They offer 1 truck period. A GM (ford or dodge too) can be outfitted and equipped for many many different uses. From little engines and no options to 496 c.i.d and deisels with dvd players and sat. radio. Oh well the titan does come in different colors. My problem is I don' t want to work on a titan(or ford or dodge for what it's worth)

But they seem to be the bread and butter for mechanics. Anyway just my .02cents

When the Titan / Aramada first came out I looked them over and while there are some good points to them, I felt that they were not enough truck for me.

What Caught my Eye though was the fact that the rear axles are Modified Dana (don't remember if it's a 35 or 44), Having to have my Jeep Grand Cheroke's Dana rear axle re-built 4 times in less than 60,000 miles and looking at the specifications for the Titan / Aramada rear axle by my judgement I decided that these were not the Vehicles for me.

I don't think Nissian is putting a aluminum finned rear diff. cover on there axles for looks.

A few of the Travel Trailer forums I visit there are a lot of import owners that swear "Full Size Import Trucks" are better than the american made full size trucks. But I see more problems with drivetrain issues on the imports due to towing.

to many people look at the factory stated horsepower & torque ratings and do not factor in all of the other elements to compare vehicles for the proper application.

to many first time truck buyers think the imports are better than american iron. And these are the same people that think the Honda ridgeline is a truck.

Before I bought my (wife's) truck, I read all of the articles and checked out all of the specs and thought I would buy either the new Ford or the Nissan crew. That was until I drove all three. I liked the way the Chevy drove much better. I liked the interior of the Ford much better (but couldn't see out of it and it lacked power). The Nissan had plenty of power, but at the time the Nissan dealer was VERY proud of the their new truck. I couldn't be happier with the Chevy (once I got rid of the torque management).
