Diagnostic Codes

I had my 2000 Sierra in for maintenance a couple days ago and I asked the tech to put it through a diagnostic test because I was getting engine shimmy and my service engine light and service 4wd light were coming on in the msg center, the following error codes were noticed:

P0357 IGN Coil

P1380 ABS Defect

C0225 WSS Open

The tech told me he could not perform any repairs on these error codes cause his diagnostic guru was out of the shop for a week and he wasn't exactly sure what they actually meant. He did tell me the P0357 code is probably the source of my shimmy and the C0225 is probably why my service 4wd light is coming on. As for the P1380 he had no idea what this meant other than there is a potential problem with the ABS. Just wondering if anyone could provide more insight on these codes and let me know if my tech is thinking in the right direction.

Thanks.

P0357 is an ignition coil (#7) or circuit problem. The P1380 says there was a misfire but due to an ABS problem, it couldn't do the rough road calculation.

I don't see any of these causing your service 4wd light to come on. Your mechanic would have to specifically go into ATC (automatic transfer case) data to find any codes there. They're not going to show up in powertrain or abs.
