PCM ???

Longtime viewer, first time post.

I have a 2001 GMC 2500HD 6.0L. I recently recieved my wait4me PCM and installed it. When I started my truck, these are the things that happened:

1. Service Engine Light stays on : I know this is the "crank relearn".

2. The ABS light blinks a couple of times, then stays on.

3. The parking brake light blinks if the parking brake is on, buts stays on constant if the brake is released.

4. Speedometer does not work.

I have a call in with Jesse, but just wanted to see if anyone else has had these problems.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 2005 6L 2500 HD, and I just installed my tune from Jesse yesterday(Sat. 1/21), and I had zero problems. Not even the token crank relearn *yet*. So far, so good with me.

Right now I think I am going through the "This thing gets better every time I drive it" stage, because at first I felt only modest gains, but I am noticing more as I drive it. I just took the "stage 1" tune and not the all out power tune, so I hope my expectations are where they should be. Keep us posted as to how Jesse takes care of you though, because customer service is what really counts.

Did you at least keep your original PCM as a back-up in case this happened? I know it only took me about 15 minutes to swap mine out and that was with all my snowplow wiring in my way, so if you did keep yours maybe you want to swap it out right away.

Good luck and as I said... Keep us posted!

I called waitforme and spoke to someone not sure if it was Jesse or not. He said they have one tune and only one tune. Their is no hot tune or stage whatever. He said that the computer reconizes what octane your running and adjusts accordingly. They can make many other adjustments like your tire size. I wounder if you guys with larger tires like 285 75 16 are seeing your impressive mileage increacse after the tune is adjusted because you dident account for the 7.3% difference in the size when you calculate mileage before the tune. If their mods to your computer are so grate why dosent GM do them. I guarentee you that they can figure out exactly what mods waitforme of westers is doing. Makes me wounder what the side affects are from these mods.

Update:

Talked to Jesse(nice guy by the way) today. Removed the plugs and found a pin bent on the PCM. Corrected that, and everything is OK. Just need to get the re-learn done.

Took the truck out for about 10 minutes, and it is great. I will probably have to invest in some new tires pretty soon.......
