Heated Mirror question again...

OK I finally got my truck in for the mirrors, and the steering shaft... Well they just called and said my mirrors are working fine.. than I have to turn on the rear window defroster for them to works...(NO KIDDING... I know this ) my comment was that they do not melt snow/ice/even a lite covering of water(like fogged windows)... Tech said they get "warm"...

is it possible that they do not get "warm" outside in the cold... I know for a fact last winter they would melt snow/ice or what ever off the glass.

Also do you know who hot the mirror glass is suppose to get. I have access to an IR thermometer to check it.

its possible for them maybe not to reach there max temp for a while but i will go out to my truck 2night with my IR and let you know how hot these things get

Thanks... remember some IRs do not like glass so you might have to put some masking tape on the surface...

Checked my mirror temp reached 50 degrees in mid 30 degree outside temp... but that was after three button pushes(to turn them back on after they shut themselves off)

went 2 my truck and they reach 60 in one button push in 29 degree weather
