brake pedal makes goose noise after being pressed

Every time after brake pedal is pressed down it make a goose sounding noise as it releases back to normal position. Any ideas?

If it is a hissing noise, it most likely means that your power brake booster is about to fail. I had this happen in an 83 Pontiac Boneville.

its more like a slow honking noise when the pedal goes back to upright position...

Try lubing the pedal pivots/linkages. WD-40 never hurt anything...

I second that. I had the most annoying squeaking noise in the clutch pedal on my Mazda 626 and several well placed squirts of WD 40 and a bit of grease on the pivot point took care of it.

 

Note: I believe all late model Silverado truck brake pedals make a slight noise when first depressed. This noise is normal.

I've had my 05' silverado in twice for the same thing. First time they oiled the pedal with some gassy smelly $hit, made the whole truck stink. Then they decided it was the master cylinder and changed that. IT STILL SQUEKS EVERY TIME I LET OFF THE BRAKES!!!!!!!!!!! Don't really know what to do now.

When i had the squeaky clutch pedal in my Mazda, I was sure it had to be in the clutch master cylinder. It wasn't. I lubed the pedal pivot points and the noise disappeared.

 

Suggest you get a flashlight, a can of WD 40 and get on the turck floor and take a close look at the brake pedal. Spray WD40 on all the linkages and bushings. You can also use a dab of grease if you can get it in there. Place some newpaper under the pedal to catch the drips.
