Anyone ever have anything stolen?

Last Tuesday two low lifes stole two baby calves (4 and 6 days old) out of our pasture in broad daylight.  Dad and I want to find them and string them up like they used to out west.

I know The Scary Guy had a deal like this recently.  Anyone else ever gone through a theft of something pretty valuable?

I know this is silly to ask but.....

Wouldn't that be more like kidnapping than stealing?

I've never had live animals "unlawfully" taken from me, so I don't know how that goes.

Nope, stolen for money.  We know we will never see these calves again.  They were most likely taken to a local salebarn straight from our farm and sold.  Each one is worth ?-200, quite a bit for a 100-120 pound calf.  We just hope the insurance company doesn't try to screw us over.

I guess I've been real lucky. I did get about ?.00 swiped right out of my pocket in Djibouti, Africa, but I was drunk and giving coins to kids at the time. One of the little bastards was an accomplished pickpocket.

I would be extrememly pissed if someone came on my property and stole my ****, though.

I wish you could catch him and string him up like your Dad says!

I had a bicycle stolen a few years back.  It was chained and locked to my carport celing.  The kinda funny thing was, they left another bike in my yard.  They idiot's must have rode by and decided they like mine better than the one they were riding, and traded.  Never did get it back.

About little over a month ago, there were 9 motorcycles stolen in one night from people that live on base property (Air Force).  A couple were recovered a few days ago.  One guy only had about 400 miles on it.

Sorry to hear about that.

400 dollars is a lot of dough.

I've actually had punk kids in my driveway hop into my mom's car, ransack it, and take quarters out of it. And irreplaceable tapes.

I've been really lucky.

I can't relate to any of those stories.

I've got one for y'all.  In 1996 I leased a new Nissan Altima.  Great deal, about ? down and ?.77 a month.  Had it almost a year and had about ? in the stereo.  Had it up to 157db ona RTA at a local shop.  Well, a buddy and I went to the movies and parked right outside the theatre.  Came out after the movie and hey, no car!  Stolen on June 13th, and got a parking ticket in the mail from Albany PD from August 8th.  Goes to show you how stupid some traffic cops can be!  All of the "metermaids" here in Albany have computerized ticket machines, and they didn't even think to check if the car was STOLEN!  Dumba$$es!  THey eventually found the car about a month later.  Rear window blown out and stereo gone!  I had already been paid by the insurance company and bought a 1970 C10 Fleetside that is worth more than the altima would be now.  Thanks alot to the lowlife commoner who stole the car, I hope it was worth it.  P.S. I almost went down to the Police dept. to tear into them, but I didn't feel like going through the trouble and catching a charge in the process.

One more thing.  Don't ever, ever, ever, ever park in the parking lot to a movie theatre.  They know that you'll be in there for at least an hour and a half and have all the time in the world!!!

That is some good advice that I just never have thought of. I seldom go to movies, but I'll remember to park away from them and walk a block or two.

It was not my car but a buddy of mine and I went into Sears to get a replacement for a broken socket, we didn't even look around while we were there.  We might have been in there no more than 10 minutes came out and his Vega was gone, it would have been one thing if it was new or a Cogsworth but it was a run of the mill Vega with nearly 80,000 miles on it!!!  They never did find it.  So you don't need to go to the movies to lose your car.

Ya, thats why I never show people my guns, or the fam's.  My neighbor just got 21 guns stolen..... they ransacked the whole house.  All the guns were hidden, so you know that its gotta be someone you know....(My nearest neighbor is about 6 arces away from me heh heh)

Yes it is.  That is when the string them up line comes from.  Back many years that was the punishment for cattle rustlers out west, find the closest tree and hang them.  No probation for them.
