1995 SIERRA STARTING PROBLEM

I have a problem with my starter on my 1995 sierra with a 5.7. When I turn the key sometimes the truck starts and sometimes I just get a click from the solenoid. If I turn the key a few times the starter will eventually kick in. Do I have a dead spot in the starter, or is the ignition switch going bad?

i have the same year same engine and i found out that i have a worn flywheel and i had a cracked starter bad news for me since it is a very big job to chage the flywheel
