Radio wire harness 2002 VS 2003

Cliff Notes...

 

Have 2002 Escalade and previous owner cut factory radio harness instead of using adaptor.

 

Need to hook back up factory HU, 6 disc changer, OnStar, RSA.

 

Harness connecting changer and HU is still intact... I think most of the factory 2002 harness is actually OK just not the part that connects to the HU... radio connectors are gone, just wires.

 

Bought a 2003 radio harness from EPay, will this work getting the HU reinstalled since I am doing to use the old section of harness for the changer to HU connection? Do I need to cut off what connects to the radio and just reconnect to the old wires? Do the wire colors match up from 02 to 03 or will I need to move wires within the connector to get this to work? Is there another alternative?

 

Will the new harness work with the RSA and the old 02 HU?

 

Does anyone have the wiring schematics to hook all this back up?

2003 is the start year of the harness change. The 03+ harness has a communication bus integrated. The HU between 03+ and 99-02 (00-02 SUV) are not plug nor signal compatiable.

Have you called the dealer to see if they made a replacement plug?? This is a common problem and they may carry a replacement.. just a thought...
