Are these speakers any good?

They are better than stock by a long shot. But I would get a 3-way instead of a 2. (I said 3-way)

But last night I saw those Pioneer 3ways from circit city at walmart for cheaper.

And if you can buy it at Walmart, it probable isn't worth putting in.

Fork out a few dollars more and get a better speaker unless you are just planning on driving them from your factory deck. I agree with the above post. I've bought stuff at walmart for my stereo before and it just isn't the same as the things for a few bucks more.

Those are  .

Look, first you have to tell me what kind of receiver/amp your running. For stock head unit, a cheap set of pioneers will do but for any quality head unit your going to spend some real $$ on speakers.

My last rig had JL Audio amps and i ran Focal fronts (read $750 a pair) and Pioneer in the rear, with a JL Audio stealthbox 12" Sub.

Go to you local car audio store NOT CIRCUIT CITY or any of the like, and listen to different speakers thru different amps! Dont jump on the first pretty colored pair that comes along.

I just changed out all four OEM's with Sony 6.5" 3-ways (model XS-V1630A. Much clearer and brighter than the factorys! I like how the red shines through the grille. They're rated at 55W with a 220W peak. About $80 CDN for a pair. I still debating whether a 4-channel amp is required to further drive these babies.

They say the bass isnt good, but...anybody try these suckers?

Yep, I just put a pair of these in my '06 Seirra Regular Cab. They are last years models, the current one's are Model TS-G-1641R. The tweeters are different (dome vs cone). Anyway, I put last years model in the doors and the current 4X6s in the "B" pillar. They are model TS-G-4641R. Sound is much better than stock. The base is weak, but OK. Crutchfield had them (the 6.5" rounds) for $39.95. If I had it to do over again, I do the same thing. Sound good, and don't break the bank, and Crutchfield gives you excellent instructions and wire adapters.
