Changing turn signal switch

How difficult is it to change a turn signal switch? Any tips.tricks?

I never changed one on a GM truck, but changed it on other GM vehicles and on my Nissan truck. Nissan was easy: you removed the lower portion of the cover around the steering wheel, loosened several screws, unplugged the switch, and that is it. I remember that my 83 Pontiac was a PITA becuase GM incorporates cruise control into their turn signal switch, and you must fish that wire through the steering column. If they did not change that design, it will be somewhat time consuming.

hmmm the truck does have the steering wheel controls so hopefully the cruise goes through there. I have no idea its my moms and my dad plans on changing it when i visit (what a vacation hehe)

usually there are 2 screws right under the steering wheel and to replace that you might have to remove the whole steering wheel
