Question about mirrors

I would like to know if newer mirrors (w/Turn Signals) could be mounted AND work properly on a truck that had factory non-electric mirrors. The truck in question is a 2000 Sierra. I have the factory style (manual) mirrors and wanted to upgrade to the newer GM mirrors that have the turn signal in the mirrors. I was just wondering how much of a task it would be and where would I splice into to have the signals on the mirrors work when I used my signals.

Thanks

This would be a difficult project because the current turn signal mirrors have the following functions:

1. power adjustable

2. power folding

4. auto dimming on the driver side

5. heated

6. turn signal arrow

7. curb tilting feature for trucks with DIC buttons on steering wheel

You would be primarily interested in functions 1 and 6 above. There is a separate button for function 2 and function 7 is programmable.

physically mounting would not be a problem, they would just bolt right on.

However you would have to do all of your own wiring and find a place to mount the switches. The inside door panel is different if you have power windows/doors (more room for all the buttons).

Not impossible, but difficult like pm26 stated.

Check out this website MITO CORPORATION

They supply GM with there O.E. mirrors,You won't have the power-fold or curb-tilt features (Two features which I never use anyway and I think there a waste of money) but you will have the LED turn-signal and they also offer them in the heated version.
