Parking is now a problem

Since I am now the proud owner of an almost 8 foot tall van, I have become the outlaw of the parking set.

I would appreciate if you could post the maximum height for local public parking garages for your area.

For example, the info for Universal Studios Hollywood is the Handicapped areas are 8' 2" and the non handicapped areas are 6' 6" or 7' 0". They do have an oversized lot.

I will create a web page as I get info so others can access the information as I gather it, and will post the link here once it goes live.

Spots around LA I am looking for at the moment are:

California Science Center

The Bridge - Hughes Parkway where the IMAX Theatre is

LAX - all garages SHOULD be the same, but ya never know with them...

Long Beach Aquarium and surrounding garages

Thanks for the help, I figure that I am not the only one with this issue and I want to just get a simple page together so everyone has info when needed.

I've been dealing with being too tall since I bought my Tahoe Z71. It measure's about 79" (I laid a 2x4 across the roof rack and measured). Even at work, I don't park in the garage everyone else does, I'm a block away in a garage that measures 82".

Best of luck with parking and you are a very good person for compiling data like this to help fellow "Tall Boys".

In my area, I think I would have to drive at least 100 miles to even find a parking garage. :sigh:

Best of luck and that is ONE sweet ride!
