GM, please dont use the same front end!!!!!

well as sad as it may be, from the spyshots it looks as if GM is going to use the same front ends on their new trucks as the tahoe and yukon have !!

OK, these front ends look ok on the suv's with the soccermom look, thats fine, but NOT on these new trucks!!! first off the tahoe has a happy go lucky look to it, and second the yukon/xl just looks plain goofy!! Currently GM's trucks have a mean, tough look to them and to loose that would be just another drop in the bucket for GM,

i have always been a GM fan, Dad, Grandpa worked for 30+ years each, but latley i wonder who is working behiend the scenes there?? crack head?? woman's clothing designer?? Come on GM, come on........

Yeah the new 03-06 trucks have a "mean" look from the front however have you looked at a side veiw? The fron looks horrible the front fenders are rounded at the corner where they meet the hood/headlight assembly. On the previous models and the 03-06 GMC's the fender comes to a point. The rounded fender just drops off and makes the truck look horrible from the side IMHO. I have gotten used the the look from staright on front view but that side veiw is hideous. I think GM will not use the same front for the Silverado, It may be the same concept (large single headlight but it wont look like the tahoes.)

I'm thinking (hoping) they will make the front end on the trucks look a little different, maybe a different bumper set up with a chrome bumper? More durable than the painted one on the Tahoe. I've got a 2003 and I like the way it looks! I guess we'll see for sure in the next few months.

Personally I don't link the new front ends.

I prefer the 2000-2002 look.

Me too...But I've torn the chin off of both of mine 3 or 4 times, so I'm used to it.

 

New airdams are only about $25 now.

Actually, I am hoping the new trucks look identical to the Tahoes. I love the look. As for the front air dam, it looks as though it can be removed if need be.

 

The current front end on Chevy is a train wreck if you ask me. From straight on, it looks OK, but from the side, there is about 3 feet of front fender in FRONT of the wheel opening and it looks silly, even with fender flares.

 

It looks like a set back axle semi truck design to me. I love the look of the new 'hoe and if the trucks follow suit, I will be pleased and about the time the second year is on the lot, I will be getting one.

I have a feeling that the new front ends will look identical but will be different. The new trucks also have more of a fender flair than the tahoes. The grill looks wider and the headlights are different.

The new styles are a total abortion of GM. The tahoe/Yukon are a joke...so much for my wife wanting one now. If it keeps up I doubt I'll ever buy a GM again due to the poor styling. I'm a die hard GM fan and its hard for me to say that too.

 

Toyota, nissan and ford are looking nice again.

I agree. I've got an '02 silverado and i like it a lot better than my dads '05.

Kinda off the topic a bit, but yesterday, I drove thru a dealer that is not very far from here. They had an '06 Tahoe sitting right next to an '07 Tahoe. The 07 appears to look larger, but in reality, the demensions are about the same, including ground clearance and that front chin spoiler that looks very low. It actually sits about the same height as the front of the 06 models.

The new Tahoe front end isn't all that far off of the Cheyenne concept truck's. The grill especially, but the integrated bumper too. The headlights on the Cheyenne appear to have migrated to the GMC Yukon though. So for all those that liked the Cheyenne I'd expect the new SUVs would be well received, and while I expect the truck to be different (more because of posts from people here "in the know" than anything else), I don't figure it'll be that different from the SUVs.

I hope they do use the same front end....I think it will look badass.....but I like the smooth look, obviously if you look at my 05.....everything is body colored and smoothed...
