French Police to get new patrol cars

The cars are for the rapid intervention brigade (BRI) which previously had vehicles that could not go faster than 190 km per hour, or about 118 miles per hour.

So does this mean that they would be de-tuned a little to cooperate with French laws for a vehicle's top end? A de-tuned WRX seems to be a slap in the face for the brand.

Gotta love the domestics in full police livery

The cops there could save a ton of money and buy them all bikes. It doesn't matter anyway because it's the French we're talking about. Surrendering is in their blood.

That Charger does look nice, but I can only imagine how old the interior would get after a few 8hr days. The Crown Vic starts off roomy, but that quickly fades when you mount a radio console, mdc, and rifle/shotgun in it.

I drove 210 kph on the Autobahn last week (while on a business trip in Germany). So that's about 125 mph? Wow.

The pavement (concrete) is very smooth.

Ya, it's nice to have a 2500HD for the room.

Yeah, I kind of mumble under my breath when I see the ODNR guys drive through town in F-150's and such. If you have to drive a f*rd, at least make it a comfy one.

Rays, thanks for the link.  Very interesting there.  I'll have to find out more about those.

They could be very interesting, I'm curious as to the price. I do all the ordering of equipment and have it installed for our department and it's becoming a real challenge trying to find a safe place to put all the equipment.
