So what do you guys think? Good bad? Remember, we're not sure how accurate this really is, but it seems like a good first idea of how the truck may turn out.

C'mon Zane, I at least thought you'd break out the crayons for it. JK of course. Not too crazy from the side. I'm definitely anxious to track the progress.

Im thinking the headlights will be of a vertical orientation, and the rims will be smaller. The ordering guide where these were found is a commonly known website at gmiside news at least. These outlines have now been taken off of that site but this outline could be either the sierra or silverado. Both had the same outline. This is where the first small pictures of the avalanche were found. Another interesting note is that the current trucks will be refered to as "classic".

The grille and hood definately looks more "ford superduty"-ish. Be interesting to see how the final product ends up.

I think that is a Chevrolet, judging by the chrome bar across the center of the grille.

Hmm, I don't know. I like the idea that GM noses don't look like the Ford or Dodge styles.

I definitly don't like the way the new Ford's are with the "square" look to the sheet metal. Seems like driving a "box" is becoming the in thing. Hopefully GM doesn't go that route.

I would like to see them tuck up all the parts up front to gain a little more clearance. I know it's tough to do when trying to balance clearance vs step up height and not have a huge hump running down the center of the cab.

Other than that it seems like the more we see "improvements" to pickups the more features are taken out of our control, i.e. auto door locks, auto headlights. Makes me wonder whats next, which makes me want to just keep what I've got. I like having control of things or at least the ability to turn off automatic stuff.

There will always be improvements to engine/tranny, but until they make some drastic improvements in mpg without sacrificing power (which I don't see happening anytime soon) my beast will suit me just fine.

Talking to my Scoggin-Dickey man who's supposedly "in the know", he states that the '07 Silverado front end will look like the Tahoe, but the '08 models will be radically different. I'm not sure what that means, but take it for what you will. I've never liked the grille of the Avalanche and when Chevy got lazy? or cheap? and stuck those on the '03, I was disappointed. Even though I have an '03, I'm still not impressed with the looks.

At first glance to me, the taillights look they came out of a Dodge Ram and the rear bumper looks like it's recessed into the body, kinda like Ford did on their previous body style... I certainly hope GM is going to be more original than that...

For a preliminary sketch, I like it.

As could be seen from the mules, the front end was going 'big' - though it's entirely possible they are going with an HD specific clip. At least it's not getting too sissified, like the Hoe/Yukon did. Though, if you caught the CSI commercial with the Yukon, the new fender flares do butch it up a bit:

The grill guard doesn't hurt, either.

Has there been any word of wether or not the 4x4s will still be on torsion bars, or might they get coils like the SUVs?

I believe the torsion bars will not pass safety inspections anymore. This means that all new and future vehicles can not have them.

Why wouldn't TBs pass safety inspections?

I love the new SUV's and so far I'm very happy with what I see for the trucks. I'll be in the market for a NEW 2500hd duramax/ally in a few years so I'm really hoping the new trucks are awesome.
