Lemon Law?

Has anyone tried applying the "Lemon Law" to the issue with the front end popping, clunking, whatever you want to call it that the dealer says they can't fix?

Lemon law, at least in Wisconsin, is the vehicle has to go back to the shop for the same problem at LEAST 4 times OR the vehicle has to be in the shop for a MINIMUM of 30 days in the FIRST YEAR of owning the vehicle. After that, I am not sure what the requirements are. Hope this helps.

Give a little more info on the noise. When does it happen and under what conditions.

Mr Tech,

What I'm experiencing is what was talked about in this thread:

http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51958

It's been to the dealer once, they claimed to have fixed it, but it came back a couple of weeks later. I had a bad experience at that dealer so I went to go talk to another and explained my problem to them. They replied that there's nothing they can do about it.

I plan on printing out some of the advisories mentioned on the thread and on this forum on what the possible fix can be in the hopes of finding some resolution.

I don't want to knock the GM product, but I'm frustrated and the popping noise is really getting to me. I don't enjoy driving the truck anymore. The truck has 10k miles now and I can't take it anymore.

Do you have any suggestions?

If you're in Virginia the lemon law requires 3 failures in the first 18 months. There appears to be an arbitration option with the manufacturer after that period, but I'd say it's definitely worth the cost of a lawyer if you're going to persue it.

Outsource....That clunking noise you're talking about, is it when the vehicle shifts its weight from left to right when going over uneven ground and feel, hear that clunking noise underneath the floor boards? I don't know if you're the one who started the same topic in an earlier post, but you might wanna try replacing the rear leaf springs. I posted this in an earlier topic about the rear leaf springs. My trunk had been in the dealership four times within a month with that clunking noise and when they replaced the rear leaf springs that clunking noise went away. My buddies 02 Silverado was doing the same thing and he replaced the rear leaf springs and it went away also. If I'm on the same page as you, you might wanna try it if you've tried everything else.

I know how annoying it is....drove me nuts for like two months.

Not sure if I was having the same problem, but I was hearing a clunking/creaking sound that was most prominent upon acceleration from a stop. It started getting worse as the days went by, and I began hearing it when driving over bumps. Anyways, I took my truck in for it leaning to the left, and they replaced both rear leaf springs as mentioned above, and the sound seems to have gone away. Hopefully I was able to kill two birds with one stone.
