Hi guys I just installed a amp and sub in my 03 ss silverado now I have a major issue. About 60% of the time I drive my truck, everything resets while driving down the road. However the truck still runs and drives just fine. However the security light on the dash stays on after this happens. No wires are touching after the install. The power wire is directly from the battery, the ground is from a rear seat bolt, remote from the igition switch, and the rcas come from the plug and play converter, I think its the pac brand. I have also tried resetting the truck by disconnecting the negetive terminal for a hour. What's going on?

Also just to clearify, I'm not talking about the amp resetting, I'm talking about the truck itself. Everything on the dash, including the stock stereo. The dic says unknown driver then back to driver one. The truck never dies

is it while the Sub is on??? because if it is than your amp may be drawing to much voltage from an already tired battery. this may casue it to drop below the minimum sustainable voltage. unplug the amp and see if it happens again. If so, replace the battery with something like a Optima Yellow Top with a deep cycle. if it still occurs than there is a short somewhere in the dash. Now why it would reset and not kill the motor is beyond me unless the already moving momentum of the motor acts like a push start for a stick shift???

I would recomend you to draw your power from the red box instead of straight from the battery. I'm not sure if it will make a difference but it's worth a try.

it might sound dumb but you might want to check the lug on the battery where you have your positive cable to the amp. it might be loose. also i would move it to the red box. its much easier to get to.

The truck is a 03 with the original battery, this morning I had the heated seats on, heater and rear defrost all on, and my headlights got real dim, sub amp was off. None of this started happening until I put the amp in. But it still does it with the amp off. The connections are all tight and not coroded
