Remote panic button

Is there any way to diable the panic button function of the remote without disabling the alarm? I am tired of that button getting inadvertently pushed in my pocket or hands.

Thanks,

Rob

HaHaHa!!!  Been there done that!!!  I've also had the kids grab my keys off the counter and push that button!!!

I don't know how to disable it, so I'm sorry.  But it is funny to hear that I'm not the only one that has had that happen.

Yeah I have had the alarm go off inadvertently a few times when the button got pushed by something else.  And of course the only time it happens is when there seems to be cute babes nearby

Take it apart and put a piece or two of black electrical tape between the contacts for the panic button.   ;)   The rest of the features should still work like they are suppose to.

My 3 year old LOVES to get Daddy's keys and hit the panic button too.  It's soooo entertaining to have Mommy or Daddy chase him around trying to get the keys back to turn off the alarm!

I took mine apart and destroyed the connections on the circuit board.  If you look at the board, you can tell which ones connect to the panic button.  I then used a key (a screwdriver or knife will also work) to "disconnect" the button from the circuit.

I've probably mentioned this here before, but mine seems to have a "habbit" of triggering @ the worst possible times - like out in a quiet forest campground in the middle of the night, and all I wanted to do is recycle some beer!

I can relate.  Saturday I was in a similar situation at a service station.  I was sitting in my dad's truck while he was in the store getting some ice.  He saw the girls and decides he's gonna hit the panic button on me.  I WAS MAD!

Thanks everyone. I took the remote apart and trimed off the black conductor from the rubber panic button with a razor blade. No more panic attacks!

This would be the smartest way to go!

That way you can undo it when you want to sell the truck.

Especially since those remotes are $40+ from the dealer.

Wow, that is ruthless, I would have been pretty pissed.

Yeah I set mine off one morning while it was still dark as we were heading into the woods during deer season.  Talk about getting some dirty looks from your buddies! :0
