4.3l Blazer - cranks but not start

We have a 97 4.3l blazer that will crank but not start.

 

It appears to have no spark and no fuel. Also, the gauges do not work. The radio, and dash lights will work though.

 

I also tried to connect to the ECM with a laptop and scanning software, but it always show a busy signal and will not connect.

 

Any ideas?

Just for future reference... It turned out to be the key switch.
