lowering 1 ton dully

i am trying to bag a1990 1 ton 2wd dully extended cab . i have been on the 4 link for over a week and i have tryed every combination possible and can not get the rear end to function properly,the company i bought the whole kit from says it is a universal 4 link kit,evidently they have never tryed to install a kit on one of these truucks,has anybody out there got any sort of help for me.
